Description
Walton, KS. 1929. Mildred Johnson Gilchrist is posing by her receptionist desk in the waiting room of Dr. McClymonds office. Two women and a man are waiting to see the doctor. Text with photo reads: "Mildred Johnson Gilchrist pictured in Dr. McClymonds waiting room. She worked as his receptionist during the winter of 1929. Her salary was $10.00 per week. She had a rented room with the Charles Spanglers and took her supper with them. Breakfast and lunch were eaten at the local restaurant. The left of the picture is to the south (front of the building). Note the red geraniums Mrs. McClymonds kept in the planter in the front of the window.
