Description

This black and white photograph features men standing outside a house and wearing suits. Eight men pose in front of a house. A piece of a photo showing the head of a man has been glued onto the photograph making a total of nine men in the photo. See 2008.100.761 for the inserted photo before cropping. Writing on back of matte reads: "C. A. Smith." A typed sheet is glued to back of matte: "What's Left Of The Gang of Halstead "oldsters" Ed Barrows, W. L. Severence, Charles Cadwell, Frank Wilmore, Chas. A. Smith, Dave Thomas, A. E. Hertzler, Bud Williams, George Wear." Researcher's notes: Dates on typed sheet include dates of birth and "came to Halstead." March 18, 2010. This photo was viewed by Edwin "Suzie" Buller (97) of Halstead and he identified the men in this order: left to right: 1. ?, 2. Dave Thomas, 3. Charles Caldwell, 4. Charlie Smith, 5. Frank Wilmore, 6. A. E. Hertzler, 7. ?, 8. Bud Williams, 9. George Wear.
