Description
A black and white photograph from the 1930s. Fort Hays Kansas State College marching band marches along Park Street. Sheridan Hall can be seen in the left background of the photograph, and behind it, McCartney Hall. Two 1930s model vehicles are parked on the middle, left edge of the picture. Bare trees line the sidewalk behind the band, slightly obscuring the view of the buildings. The band consists of both male and female members. The students play clarinets, saxophones, marching snares, trumpets, French horns, baritones, sousaphones, and trombones. The men wear pants, and the women wear skirts with heels. They wear military-style hats with capes.
