Description

The early 1980s Great Bend High School Drum Majors Photograph from FHSU’s Band Day. The black and white photo shows two female drum majors at Band Day at Fort Hays State University. They wear dark uniform jackets, skirts, boots, cavalry hats, and white gloves. A patch on the arm of one of the uniforms says “Great Bend.” Their left arms are extended in front of them at chest height, so their palms are touching in an informal handshake. The girl whose face is visible is smiling. Two members of the band are visible in the background. They wear dark uniform jackets and light colored bibbers, as well as black shakos. They are holding wind instruments, but it cannot be discerned what type of instruments they are.
