Description

This black and white photograph features two men sitting in the middle of an excavated area within an outcropping. The outcropping reveals a wide expanse of stratification. Lawrence M. Lambe (left) has a fedora hat on, with a dark-colored suit and suit jacket. Charles H. Sternberg (right) is wearing a hat, a lighter-colored suit, and a suit jacket. To the right of Mr. Sternberg, an over-the-shoulder bag is lying open on its side. Another bag and an axe are behind Mr. Lambe. More hills and outcroppings are in the background. Handwriting is below the photograph.
