Description

This page is from George Sternberg's personal photo album. These black-and-white photos were collected by paleontologist George Sternberg. The top left and top middle photos show a Marsh Hawk in flight. The top right and bottom left photos show a young Marsh Hawk in its nest on the ground. The bottom middle photo shows Sternberg with a string of Pike, Pickerel, and Goldeye fish that he caught. He is posing with the fish on a rowboat, which is next to a motorboat. Behind the boats is a tent on a scow or barge. The bottom right photo shows the same scene, but the photo includes Sternberg's colleague P.A. Bungart. Underneath each of these photos is an inscription written by Sternberg.
