(Bickerton), Baker, not Tolard / According to No Cyclone Shall Destroy (Dorrance, 1979), in 1874, William Bickerton left the Methodist Church and led a group from the Church of Jesus Christ onto the plains of Kansas searching for religious freedom and a place to build their dreams.
