Artist's Statement
This series of eggs shows the artist's dedication to the animals of the Great Plains region. Cobalt colored slip is used to illustrate various life forms that have important roles in the ecosystem they inhabit such as Earthworms, Painted Turtles, and even Flathead Minnows. Each creature is lovingly painted onto the surface of one of nature's perfect forms. Eggs hold the promise of new life, and their form is used to capture the appreciation the artist has for each creature depicted.
