Artist's Statement
Reconnection is about the effort and strength it takes to reach out and maintain relationships. In addition, it also takes strength to accept these efforts from another. I believe adulthood is a constant loop of reconnections, and what you've left behind comes back when you least expect it. It becomes increasingly difficult to maintain these connections as we grow older. This piece was sparked by my friends in high school reaching out to me after years of silence, and despite the time apart, we can still reconnect. Reconnection with the self, nature, family, etc.. may seem just barely out of reach, but they are the rock that secures us as we embark on the next chapter of our lives.
