Artist's Statement
This piece reflects on the complex relationship between me, my mom, life, and religion. My mom had cancer when she was pregnant with me, and the doctors believed that if it weren't for me, my mom would've died, leading me to be called the "angel baby," Although I am honored, I always felt that my mom wanted me to be the key that fixed everything in our family life.
