Artist's Statement

This painting is an depiction of the vulnerability of a relationship. The idiom, "you've got egg on your face" means to wear your shame or embarrassment from a mistake that you've made. In a strong and loving relationship, when either person makes a mistake, sometimes you just have to laugh. To express that feeling of absurdity, I've chosen bright colors and bold brushstrokes to imbue the painting with a vibrant energy.
