Artist's Statement
This short animation depicts the mundane magic that comes from owning and maintaining a farmstead.
taking inspiration from old 1960s commercials and cartoons I was able to replicate the style through stop motion paper cutouts.
Ever since I was a little kid, I always have remembered helping my dad and my grandpa on our family farm. Tagging the calves, burning the field, taking the wheat truck into town during harvest. Everything about taking care of the farm had always made me feel larger than life and that I was being relied on by the things I was taking care of.
It's a hard feeling to put into words, which is why I hope this video can give the sense of what I mean.
