Artist's Statement
I created this piece using only colored pencil, and used a reference photo curated from personal objects. I increased the saturation to make everything have a more vibrant feel. The inspiration for this piece was simply that I wanted to showcase where I was at in the semester and some of the conflict going on within that. The objects range from sentimental to things of every day use to me. In some way, everything in this piece represents the tension of trying to do all of the things I wanted to do and that I know were good for me to do, and feeling burnout because I knew I needed a break.
