Artist's Statement
Crossroads is a themed playing card set based off of decision and chance. This project includes digitally illustrated cards, an intuitive box design, and a promotional video advertising the deck. The box slides open, revealing a continuous path that the video references. The six card and bullet is used as a metaphor for the risk involved in decision making, while also being a play on the phrase "shoot your shot." An explanation of the cards can be found on the back of the interior box, and the synopsis is on the back of the white box. Each face card represents the crucial elements in our lives - habits, health, relationships, family, education, and careers. The video is intended to capture the mood of the artwork and meaning of this project. Every choice is a crossroad.
