Artist's Statement
"Summer Hammock" is a mixed media collage that captures the peaceful feeling of swinging in a hammock in the backyard of my childhood home. Using painting, sewing, and pasting, I layered textures and materials to evoke the warmth, movement, and quiet of those summer days. The threads mimic the lines of the hammock, the painted elements reflect sunlight and trees, and the collage as a whole becomes a memory you can almost feel. This piece is a reflection on comfort, nostalgia, and the beauty of slowing down.
