Exploring Sound Intensity Levels in Dance Studios: A Study on Acoustic Environments and Their Impact
Abstract
This study investigated the intensity levels of music in dance studios and evaluated listener habits and awareness of the negative impact loud noises can have on hearing. Sound intensity measurements were first collected followed by a survey and basic auditory screening. Results indicated dance instructors are exposed to music intensities that exceed safe listening levels. Most participants were unaware of their listening level.
