Newton. 1962. Harvey County Fair parade. Shriners on motorbikes are driving north on Main Street. Buildings in background, left to right: R. & T. Lunch - 126 N. Main (this is a Valentine building), residence of Helen and Mary Dix - 124 N. Main, Gail Ward Motors, Inc. - 118 N. Main, First Christian Church - 100 N. Main. October 2011. Dennis Jenkins identified three people in the photograph: his mother, owner of the R & T Lunch, his grandfather and his little sister. His mother, Edna Mahaffey, is the short lady with dark hair and sunglasses in the background at the corner of the lunch building. His grandfather, Walt Mahaffey is standing at the curb, wearing a hat and long sleeved blue shirt. His sister, Joann Mahaffey, is at the curb, standing just left of the baby stroller.
