Description

This color photograph features a Halstead 1974 Old Settlers' Day parade. A float with a woman, a man and two girls riding on it is being pulled by a car that has a sign that reads "Irv Schroder Chevy Olds." On the float is an oversized loaf of bread, a globe, and display of wheat. Signs on float: Turkey Red Wheat Centennial 1874-1974. Threshing Stone - Symbol of the Role of Mennonites including B. Warkentin. Signs on business buildings in background: Budweiser and Peoples Cash Grocery.
