Description

Sand Creek Freight Yards. "East Lead in Yards. View is looking eastward. The switch stand is a kero-type light, short type star switch stand. The large building in the center is the section tool house. Building attached to the tool house served as storage for the kero, fortnight and oil. The roof showing to the right of the tool house is the pump house and well belonging to the Newton Ice. Plant. The next building east is the Santa Fe pump house and water treater pumpers office for the water tank. Between the Santa Fe pump house and the water tank is a shed, attached to the side of the tank, containing facilities to treat water by the use of soft bricks of compound. - D. D. Steinle."
