Description

This black and white photograph features a rural Harvey County harvest scene from 1895. The harvesters use a push binder header and barge to cut and load the crop. Typewritten note glued on lower left corner of frame reads: "To Harvey County Historical Society; From the picture files of (Doc) Stipe [veterinarian], given to A. J. Frey, Newton. Harvest scenes in eastern Harvey County. Doc lived in the Elbing area." Stamped on back of photo: "L. Scott, Photographer, Claflin, Kansas."
